This dwelling, on a standard suburban block, was quite specific in it’s brief: conservative, spacious and cost efficient. In addition, the significant slope across the land had to be accounted for.
Externally the dwelling is fully rendered, with quoin work at the corners, with a large central entry portico with balcony above as the main articulation.
At ground floor all the spaces lead off a central hallway. Guest bedroom and formal lounge are located on either side of a long entry space, off which the stair to first floor is located. The L-shaped living area, with kitchen directly opposite the theatre room, looks out onto a modest alfresco. First floor consists of a number of spacious bedrooms, all with ensuites and walk-in-robes. At the top of the stair the large retreat area looks out over the front garden and is serviced by a small tea room.
